OVID APPLICATIONS TRAINING CLASS

In this half-day training class, you'll learn how to use the features of the Ovid Web Gateway search software more effectively to obtain relevant search results when searching indexed medical and scientific bibliographic databases, full text databases and electronic books. There will be an overview of database specific features in MEDLINE and Journals@Ovid, such as mapping to MeSH headings, limits, searching individual fields and linking to the full text articles in MEDLINE. Attendees will learn how to use Ovid's new Multifile feature to search multiple databases simultaneously and how to use Ovid's deduping feature to remove duplicates from their search results before viewing, saving or printing the set. Core Ovid features such as Database Selection, Search Modes, Ovid Help, Search Basics, Printing, Saving, and Changing Databases will also be covered. Attendees of the Ovid Applications Training class will be awarded four (4) MLA continuing education contact hours.
