CBIL
provides many resources to assist medical students in their
education. Students can access the PDA Medicine link from
our website. PDA
Medicine gives students up-to-date information
regarding PDA usage in the School of Medicine (SOM), as well
as new PDA software and hardware that is available. This link
is especially useful to students now that SOM recommends Dell's
Axim Pocket PC PDA.
Medical
students can access their course curriculum on the Electronic
Curriculum page, as well as communicate with
peers and faculty with the Electronic
Bulletin Board. Students can also link from our
resources page to Medical
Resources on the Internet, which is a compilation
of search engines, directories, guides, Web pages and more
that supports the medical curriculum. In addition, students and faculty can learn more about our medical simulation program by visiting our Medical Simulations Page. CBIL provides Faculty
Resources, specifically to assist with formatting
PowerPoint slides and using Netter Presenter. Students and
faculty have access to Copyright
Guidelines to inform them of fair use as they
use materials for the curriculum.
Students
can also access VCU
Libraries and FREIDA
from CBIL's website. Using Fellowship and Residency Electronic
Interactive Database (FREIDA), students can search for specialty
programs, training institutions, training statistics and career
plans for recent medical school graduates.
Students have access
to links for Instructional
Development and Distance
Education, both affiliated with the Office of
Faculty and Instructional Development in the School of Medicine.
