As
a service for medical students, CBIL staff accepts PowerPoint lectures
from faculty to provide students with timely access to a web-based
color copy for viewing. All PowerPoint files are stored in Adobe
Acrobat format, and we ask students not to print these files in
CBIL. Instead, we print a master copy from which students may make
copies at CBIL for free.
To
assist CBIL staff in posting these lectures to the Electronic Curriculum,
we have prepared an overview of time-saving suggestions for formatting
PowerPoint lectures which you want us to place on the web. To access
these tips, click the link below:

Tips for PowerPoints
Another resource available for faculty is CBIL
staff's expertise in communicating, coordinating and integrating
technology resources used to supplement teaching medical school
courses. For assistance with locating, previewing and procuring
commercially available software, videos, or other instructional
media, e-mail Elizabeth Marlowe or
call Elizabeth at 828-8319.
Audience Response System
CBIL also provide the faculty of the School of Medicine with our new Audience Response System (ARS). There are twoAudience Response Systems available for faculty use. there is an infrared based response system that collects data from up to 64 response pads and a radio frequency based system that collects data from up to 200 pads. Each system can support up to 6 different choices per question. The faculty can incorporate their multiple choice quiz, test or even an in-class survey or review with the audience response system. The Audience response system can also provide excellent feedbacks and reports based on individual students, individual questions, the class as a whole or response rates. The faculty can then collect data such as median, mean, individual question response rates etc. Please visit our Audience Response System Page to learn more about the Audience Response System.
